Takes So Bad, The Cameras Had To Go Back In

Our newest investigation: the Marvel bloopers that didn't just break the cast — they broke the shooting schedule.

Still from this week's Marvel bloopers video
Exhibit A: a scene shortly before everyone stopped being professional.

There are bloopers you laugh at, and there are bloopers that cost a studio money. This week's brand-new video on BloopUniverse is dedicated to the second kind: takes so thoroughly demolished by giggling superheroes that the only fix was to reshoot the entire scene.

Inside you'll find heroes forgetting lines they wrote on their own hands, props betraying their owners at the worst possible moment, and at least one Avenger laughing so hard the take was declared legally unusable.

Marvel's editors cut these moments for a reason. We put them back for a better one.

"The scene was unusable. The take was priceless."

What makes a blooper worth saving isn't the mistake itself — it's the half-second afterwards, when a multi-million-dollar superhero remembers they're a person. That's the moment the studio cuts. That's the moment we print.

"A Friend From Work": How Thor's Funniest Line Came From A Very Special Visitor

It's one of the biggest laughs in Thor: Ragnarok — Thor spots the Hulk in the arena and beams: "He's a friend from work!" Pure improv genius from Chris Hemsworth? Not quite.

As Hemsworth has told it, the line was suggested by a young Make-A-Wish visitor on set that day. The kid pitched it, Hemsworth said it, the crew lost it — and the line stayed in the final cut, becoming one of the most-quoted moments in the entire MCU.

Proof that the best "mistakes" in Hollywood sometimes aren't mistakes at all — they're gifts.

Speaking of the God of Thunder's co-star: our Loki & Doctor Strange gag reel dropped this week too. Watch it here.
